The Wind on His Back

The Wind on His Back is a collection of short stories by author Mary Alexander.

They are six of the most perfect short stories that I have read in a considerable period of time.

They are filled with a wide variety of emotions, with a range of characters that are either appealing or appalling.

We read of divorce, of love lost due to an unexpected but fatal illness, angst, heartbreak, fear, loss tragedy and loneliness.

The stories are very short, but this is because Mary Alexander has a deft command of the English language and does not waste her words, yet each character in the stories is so fully drawn that the reader knows them intimately, even though, in some instances, the reader would be glad to know that they do not have that character in either their close circle of friends or their immediate family!

I am not going to reveal the details of each of the stories, but I do recommend them to the fans of this particular genre.

It is published by Matador at £8.99 and is available for purchase here https://goo.gl/wdCFDG.
